Here is a troubleshooting guide which should help to diagnose the filtering issue you are experiencing with all AirJet and HydroJet Spas.
Step 1 - Check if filter cartridges are dirty or perished:
Please follow these steps:
- Remove the filter cartridges
- Check them for any dirt or dissolved parts.
- Always make sure the cartridge is clean and dry when you replace them.
- You should change the filter cartridge after every use of the spa.
Step 2 - Check if the filter housing is disrupting the water flow:
Please follow these steps:
- Remove the filter housing from the spa and check the black membrane inside is not perished or bent.
- Try running the spa without this attached and see if the filter works correctly. You may need to replace the filter housing.
Step 3 - Check if the debris screens and pipework are blocked:
Please follow these steps:
- Remove the pump and check the pipework in to the liner for any blockages. You should be able to see all the way to the debris screen.
- The debris screen can be cleared with a toothbrush or toothpick. On the newer models of spa you are able to remove the top debris screen for cleaning.
Step 4 - The pump unit might need cleaning:
To clear the pump and the pipework internally you need to complete the backwash procedure:
- Turn the pump off using the On/Off power button on the pump display. Remove the plug from the socket.
- Remove the pump from the spa liner by placing the stopper caps over the debris screens on the liner.
- Unscrew the 3 couplings A, B and C.
- Using a hosepipe, flush water in through the pumps B pipe which should then come out the C.
- Complete this for about, 2 to 3 minutes.
- Once this has been completed, switch the water flow from in through the C and out through the B.
- Once you have completed this for roughly 2 to 3 minutes, re-attach the pump to the liner.
