How to make your Lay‑Z‑Spa Winter‑ready

Here’s everything you need to know about making your Lay‑Z‑Spa winter-ready if you're planning on keeping it setup to use throughout winter.

  1. Deep clean in late Autumn - Drain the water and give your Lay‑Z‑Spa a deep clean before the cold temperatures kick in. This is mainly because you probably won't feel like it when the time comes, but it also means your hot tub will enter the cold months in pristine condition.

  2. Sheltered location - If you can, setup your Lay‑Z‑Spa in a sheltered location. This helps protect the hot tub from the elements, prevents wind chill and will make you feel more comfortable at this time of year too.

  3. Keep on top of chemicals - After the deep clean, give the fresh water a shock dose, then balance the Total Alkalinity and pH. From then on, regularly check the levels and adjust when needed. Don't leave the water unattended for long periods of time.

  4. Insulate with a thermal cover - The Lay‑Z‑Spa thermal cover is UV resistant and completely water repellent thanks to its Duraplus™ outer layer. The best thing is that it holds the heat really well, offering up to 40% better energy efficiency.

  5. Allow Freeze Shield® to work - If you're not planning on using your Lay‑Z‑Spa very frequently, you might want to turn the heating off. If you do, make sure you leave the pump on and Freeze Shield® will prevent anything bad from happening in freezing temperatures.
