How to maintain a Lay-Z-Spa Ice Bath
Maintaining your Lay-Z-Spa ice bath water is necessary for your personal wellbeing and the longevity of your ice bath. Simply using the filtration system and cleaning the filter cartridge is not enough maintenance for the water.

Ice bath water maintenance
If you do not plan on using chemicals to treat the ice bath water, you will need to change your water every 3 days.
As well as running the filter, treating the water with chemicals, and keeping them balanced will help maintain water quality for longer. The correct ice bath water chemistry should be: Total Alkalinity: 80 - 120 ppm, pH: 7.4 - 7.6, Calcium Hardness: 200 - 400 ppm, Cyanuric Acid: 30 - 50 ppm, Free Available Chlorine: 2.0 - 4.0 ppm
- We recommend having a shower before using the ice bath.
- Use a footbath to rinse feet before getting in.
- Make sure the filter is being used.
- Switch filter for a clean one every 2 weeks - cartridges can be rinsed.
- Remove dirt/debris from the surface with a skimmer net.
- Use chlorine tablets in a dispenser, not chlorine granules.
- Liquid form chemicals are fine to regulate pH and Total Alkalinity.
- Change the water every 3 months, minimum.
General ice bath maintenance
- When the ice bath is not being used, the cover must be on.
- When the ice bath is being used, here cover should be stored on a clean surface.
