Liner Discolouration
If your Lay‑Z‑Spa liner is experiencing discolouration check out the relevant advice below depending on the type of discolouration. This guide will help you identify the cause and any relevant solutions.
Is The Discolouration A Pinkish Staining?
The pinkish staining appears due to bacterial growth which causes the staining. The magenta (pinkish) colour is normally associated with a bacterial micro-organism. The stains are extremely hard to remove, but are prevented by regular cleaning and drying particularly in areas such as stitching and seams.
These types of micro-organisms often present in areas of high humidity, rain can deposit these micro-organisms on to your top cover and outside liner. Washing regularly with warm soapy water does a good job of preventing this.
Has The Colour Of The Liner Faded?
Internal fading is usually caused by having too much chlorine present for long periods of time or by not properly balanced chemical levels.
We would not advise that the hot tub is left in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. We would suggest setting your Lay-Z-Spa up in a shaded spot or using a gazebo, canopy or parasol to help give shade.
Can You See Mould On The Liner?
Mould can occur if the hot tub is not completely dry when put away or if water becomes trapped between the liner and the cover. The humidity in conjunction with the trapped water can cause mould to grow and for the water to be stagnant.
Can You See Condensation Within The Liner?
When you are inflating the hot tub some water may collate in the internal part of the liner. If you have inflated the spa in warm weather or during high humidity the amount of water residue that may get caught in the liner will increase.
We recommend leaving the spa in a warm place to dry thoroughly or to inflate and deflate the spa multiple times. When inflating and deflating the liner, the condensation that is trapped inside will start to dry as you are pushing air round. Whilst deflated we would advise to use some mould spray to reduce the chances of any staining occurring on the internal parts of the liner.
Unfortunately, these are not a manufacturing defect and the Aftersales Team will not be able to replace this under warranty for you. The pinking should not cause any problems with using the spa but may look less aesthetically pleasing. Replacement liners can be purchased here.
